By now, you should be familiar with me discussing the natural deodorant brand Saige and Ivy. If not, read all about my excitement of becoming a brand ambassador for the health and wellness brand. Already being familiar with using the deodorant spray and replenish underarm scrub, it wasn’t until I received the complimentary package of products that I would try for the first time the underarm detox.

When I was in Costa Rica last year, we went to a spa that used volcanic mud to cleanse our skin. Since then, I’ve been on a search to look for something that would make my skin feel the way that mud did. Detoxing my underarms and using the mixture on my face and private areas was an experience. My skin felt just as soft as it did in Costa Rica.
What is a Detox?
To detox is to allow a period of time to pass to allow your body to remove any toxins and impurities that are within your system. Think of it as a internal cleansing.
What ingredients are in the deep detox?
The beauty in applying natural ingredients to your skin or ingesting into your body is when you are able to easily note what each of the ingredients are without the assistance of a Google lookup. There are products on the shelves that have scientific names for the ingredients used, but be careful because they may not all technically natural. Saige and Ivy products each have a short list of ingredients that you will know of because you may have used it before.
Bentonite Clay - ash made from volcanos. When combined with water and left to dry on the skin as a clay mask, the clay binds to bacteria and toxins living on the surface of the skin and within pores to extract toxins from the pores.
Rhassoul Clay - a high-quality soothing clay for external use. Rhassoul clay boasts a high negative charge and it can help draw out blackheads and other impurities from skin.
Spirulina - a natural “algae” (cyanobacteria) powder that is high in protein and a good source of antioxidants, B-vitamins and other nutrients. When used in a mask, it can bind with heavy metals in the body and help remove them.
Ginger root powder - has anti-inflammatory properties that helps with circulation
How to use the deep detox?
According to the instructions, mix a teaspoon with water or apple cider vinegar until you get a desired consistency to apply a thin layer to your underarm area and allow to dry. I used the detox on my face and the underarm areas and allowed to dry.
The effects of the detox would have to be seen after a consistent time of using. Having coarse hair, I am prone to having hair bumps and have had a boil in my underarm area once. LORD, that experience was something I never want for anyone ever again. Since using the Saige and Ivy natural products, I feel confident that I will not have to worry about either for a long time.
